• Attend all board meetings (may not miss more than three meetings per year without excuse).  

• Participate in the development of an annual ministry plan for the board (including Friday/Saturday retreat).  

• Oversee the facilitation of the ministry plan.  

• Handle communication and selection of materials to be used for the board and all other activities of the Synodical unit (Annual Convention and Thankoffering services, devotions).

• Affirm relationship of the board at cluster activities, events, the annual NJ WELCA convention, and the Churchwide organization.  

• Represent NJ Women of the ELCA at other local functions.  

• Affirm the decision making process that allows the board to make the most progress towards fulfilling the ministry plan.  

• Act for or represent other board members when needed.
